Michael Apeness’ return to football is tracking well and Freo Dockers high performance manager Jason Weber is confident the forward will return to main training by the end of next week.
Apeness injured his posterior cruciate ligament playing a pre-season game for Peel Thunder against West Perth in February.
“Michael’s PCL is going really well, he is training very strongly at the moment,” Weber said.
“We are looking forward to getting him back to football and back with the main group towards the end of next week.”
Weber also provided an update on Hayden Ballantyne and said the small forward is working hard on a return to football in the coming months.
“Hayden’s going very strongly at the moment, he’s back to running,” Weber said.
“We haven’t got him to full speed yet but he is certainly on his way.
“He is boxing very strongly at the moment as well.”
