How do you sum that up?
Pretty frustrating. The girls worked really hard throughout the whole week. The effort I thought was really good throughout the game. But statistically we do pretty well in contested possession we were up 15, clearances were up by 12, tackles were up by 10, inside 50’s were up by 14 and you draw the game.
What was the reason you drew?
Footy is about key moments and key opportunities. You have to take those opportunities and those inside 50’s (33 to19) you get your your opportunity to score and it’s pretty important to finish. Key moments throughout the game and in the fourth quarter really cost us.
How is Tiah Haynes?
Dislocated her shoulder throughout the game. It’s back in place and she seems in good spirits.
Did you see any issues with the tackle?
I haven’t seen it.
What sort of impact did that have on the remainder of the game?
I am not too sure. She (Haynes) is a great player for us and an incredible girl.
Do you think the physicality of that game went to a new level?
I think all three of our games the opposition has been incredibly physical at the contest and that is AFLW across the board. It was a good game. The Giants played really well. I think that is the best game they have had all season.
Were you surprised by that physicality?
No. We know the girl’s physicality is there and they love the contest. That’s what they love about footy, the contest and the camaraderie.
Three in a row at home now. Are you looking forward to staying in the one place?
We look forward now to playing Adelaide on Sunday and we will continue to get back on the track, train well, look at the game and review it.
