David Mundy on his Dad Jock…

What makes your dad a good bloke?
Always quick with a smile and loves a chat.

What is your favourite memory of your dad while growing up?
Waiting for him to come home from work so we could have a kick or play cricket.

What’s the best gift you have ever given your dad?
Not sure about best gift. He's been able to go to a few Freo President Lunches as a result of me getting drafted and he always loves giving the hierarchy a friendly ear bashing.

If your Dad was part of the team, where would he play and which teammate would he be most similar to?
He would play forward flank where he could kick 60m left-footed barrels. He would think he'd be like Matt de Boer.

What trait of your dads are you glad you inherited, and which one are you glad you didn’t?
I’m happy I inherited his happy demeanor… and I’m glad I didn't inherit his height!

How much of an influence did your Dad have on your footy career?

He had a massive influence. He was one of my first coaches in footy. As you can see from the photo - the kids used to throw dirty water over the coach before a Grand Final! He was always happy to drive me around the state to go to different games and carnivals and it’s fair to say that without my mother and father’s support I wouldn't be where I am now.

What is your Father's Day message to your dad?
Have a great day! I have my fingers crossed for “So Manic” on Monday and I love you lots.

Jock Mundy on his son David…

What makes your son a good bloke?
He’s got a happy attitude towards life.

What’s the nicest thing he has ever done for you?
He gave me his 2006 International Rules Jacket

What’s your favourite childhood memory of him?
David being attached to his brown teddy bear.

What would you consider to be his greatest achievement in his life to date?
Winning the 2010 Doig Medal

What trait of yours are you glad he inherited?

My crazy sense of humour

If his footy career was to come to an end tomorrow, what would you say to him?
I’m proud of you for the high standards you achieved and enjoy your life after football.
