Fremantle have allocated jumper numbers to their four new recruits from the 2018 NAB AFL Free Agency and Trade Period.
Reece Conca, who was signed as a free agent from Richmond, has been allocated number six.
He becomes the ninth player to wear the jumper, joining the likes of Danyle Pearce (104 games), Dean Solomon (51 games) and Tony Modra (47 games).
Star key forward recruit Jesse Hogan becomes the fourth Fremantle Docker to be allocated the no.11, joining Tommy Sheridan (81 games), Des Hedland (114 games) and Dale Kickett (135 games).
Speedy midfielder Travis Colyer will wear the no.33, joining the likes of Cam Sutcliffe (104 games) and Jeff Farmer (111 games).
Towering forward/ruck Rory Lobb will retain the no.37 that he wore at the GWS Giants.
He is the fourth player to wear the number, taking on the mantle left by retiring star defender Michael Johnson (244 games).
While the no.29 has not been allocated to a new recruit, Fremantle CEO Steve Rosich confirmed that the number will be assigned to a new draftee taken at next week’s NAB AFL National Draft.
“During the past two seasons, we have held off allocating the no.29 to acknowledge Matthew’s outstanding contribution to the Fremantle Football Club,” Rosich said.
“At Matthew’s encouragement, we have decided that it is time to see the number 29 once again running around in Fremantle colours and we will look to assign the number to one of our new draftees.
“We will never forget Matthew’s contribution in the no.29 but to see the number on the back of a new player will be another important sign that the club is embarking on an exciting new era.”
