Lachie Neale has revealed he tried to emulate North Melbourne legend Brent Harvey’s game as a young footballer.
Neale could line-up alongside one of his childhood heroes on Sunday at Etihad Stadium when Fremantle take on the in-form Kangaroos.
“I had a bit of a soft spot for North (as a child),” he said.
“I love Brent Harvey and the way he plays.
“Although he’s a bit quicker than me, I tried to take bits and pieces from his game, when I was growing up.”
Suban a fierce competitor: Neale
Neale said Fremantle always planned well to curb Harvey’s game-breaking influence.
“Every time we’ve played North, we’ve had him as a team target, because he can be a really damaging player,” he said.
“He’s a fantastic player.”
