Aside from his unquestionable work ethic on the footy field, David Mundy has earned a reputation as a hard working university student.
A reputation that held up well until Wednesday’s player sponsor dinner at Optus Stadium.
Mundy, who last year won an academic performance award for his work studying Marine Science at Murdoch University, spoke of the relief of nearing the end of his degree.
“I’m studying part time. It’s taken about nine years but I’ve just handed in my last assessment prior to exams for this semester,” Mundy said.
“It’s a 25 page report, so once I handed that in and submitted it I was a very happy man, so I’m taking a little bit of time to myself this week.”
Later in the night, first-year player Andrew Brayshaw shed some light on what that free time might consist of.
MC Mark Readings asked Brayshaw if any of the team’s younger players played Fortnite, a survival computer and console game that has taken the gaming world by storm.
“It’s young and old I think, David Mundy plays probably the most out of all of us,” Brayshaw said.
“Griffin Logue rates his ability but again, Dave goes on about how hard he works at uni but I think he works probably harder at that.”
