Taylin Duman
The defender was one of a few shining lights for Peel in their 52-point loss to Subiaco last Friday night. Duman collected 21 disposals and took five marks to continue his push for selection following his unlucky late withdrawal with back soreness ahead of Freo’s round 12 clash with Adelaide.
Mitch Crowden
The 19-year-old has played eight games in his debut season and has impressed with his tackle pressure. Following an impressive start to his AFL career, the forward/midfielder was omitted after a quiet run and has spent the past six weeks in the WAFL.
Cam McCarthy
The forward played the opening 11 games of the season, kicking 12 goals. McCarthy opened the season well with three goals against Gold Coast in round three and two goals against the Bulldogs and West Coast but was omitted after kicking one goal between rounds nine and 11.
Scott Jones
The 23-year-old ruckman remains a chance for selection following two impressive games for Fremantle in rounds 11 and 12, however he is unlikely to unseat Sean Darcy from the lead ruck role. Jones could instead be used as back-up alongside Darcy against Port Adelaide’s imposing ruckman Paddy Ryder and give Michael Apeness the chance to spend more time forward.
Harley Bennell
The talented midfielder is continuing to build his minutes in the WAFL during seven appearances for Peel this season. Senior coach Ross Lyon said Bennell would be under consideration for selection this week but felt his inclusion would be more ‘unlikely than likely’.
