Fremantle midfielder Ed Langdon says he is loving his time at the club as he takes his game to another level in 2018.
Not only is Langdon feeling settled in WA, he’s well entrenched in Fremantle’s starting 22 as arguably the club’s most-improved of the season.
Against Carlton at Optus Stadium on Saturday, Langdon was one of Fremantle’s best on ground with 31 disposals, 12 marks, five rebound 50s and three inside 50s.
“I’m absolutely loving it,” Langdon told ABC radio post-game.
“It’s my fourth year now so I’ve kind of really established my life over here and I’m absolutely loving it at the moment.
“I don’t think much will change any time soon.”
The performance sees Langdon again return to his best after some up and down games in recent weeks.
In the four games leading to Sunday’s clash with Carlton, Langdon had recorded possession counts of 28, 7, 26 and 10.
The 22-year-old said the challenge of making the next step at AFL level is finding that consistency.
“It’s been a bit up and down, I would like to be more consistent, but that’s AFL footy,” Langdon said.
“It’s hard to back it up every week and I’m just happy to contribute today.
Langdon credited fellow running midfielder Bradley Hill for setting the standard at training and contributing to his improvement.
Hill joined Fremantle ahead of the 2017 season from Hawthorn and went on to win the Doig Medal that year.
“It certainly helps spending pretty much my whole pre-season running around with Bradley Hill,” Langdon said.
“I’ve picked up a fair bit on his patterns and how he plays and that’s certainly helped me.
“It’s has just been a progression. It’s my fourth year now so as you would know, each year you kind of stack up another pre-season in the gym and on the track.”
