Peel Thunder were defeated by eight points against Claremont on Saturday at Claremont Oval.
Senior development coach Marc Webb runs through how the nine Fremantle players fared.
Danyle Pearce
Played on the ball for the game. Once again, he made a strong impact with five clearances, 29 possessions and four inside 50s to be one of Peel’s best mids on the day.
Tom North
Played on the wing and as an inside midfielder later in the game. Structurally, he was strong and he competed well. It was a good result in his first game back from injury.
Mitch Crowden
Played forward and on the ball. He had a really good first half where he had six clearances and seven tackles. He worked well as a pressure forward and kicked an important goal.
Hugh Dixon
Played forward for the game. He made his presence known with four contested marks. He led at the ball well and he also made the most of his marks inside 50 with three goals.
Ethan Hughes
Played back in a good battle with Claremont’s Tom Lee. He competed well and he brought the ball down to the ground. He impressed with his ball use, ran off his opponent when he could and gave Peel some good rebounds from deep in our defensive 50.
Harley Bennell
Played on the ball for the majority of the game and also played forward. He started really well, he had the first three clearances and first couple of inside 50s and then went forward for the majority of the second half. He gave Peel a target before coming off late.
Scott Jones
Rucked for the majority of the game. He dominated the ruck contests with 38 hitouts and gave first use to the midfielders. He did well in following up around the contest.
Lloyd Meek
Also played in the ruck where he collected 33 hitouts and impressed with his tap work. He also went forward and kicked a goal in the second quarter. When in the ruck, he followed up well around the contest.
Luke Strnadica
Played forward for the game. He provided a strong presence deep forward where he took three contested marks and led up well and competed. He was also able to kick two goals in a good effort as a forward.
