There are up to six players in line for inclusion for Fremantle’s upcoming clash with Port Adelaide on Sunday at Adelaide Oval.
Bailey Banfield, Brett Bewley, Jason Carter, Travis Colyer, Scott Jones and Ryan Nyhuis have all been added to the club’s extended squad of 26 for the final game of the home and away season.
Fremantle will need to bring in at least two of these inclusions, with Aaron Sandilands and Hayden Ballantyne omitted.
The omissions confirm that the retiring Sandilands has played his final AFL game and that Ballantyne has played his last for Fremantle.
Banfield is coming off one of the best individual performances in the WAFL this season.
The midfielder amassed 38 disposals, 13 tackles, 10 clearances and a goal in Peel’s close loss to Swan Districts last Saturday.
Colyer also impressed in the midfield for the Thunder with 27 disposals, six clearances and four tackles.
Bewley had 21 disposals and six tackles on the wing for Peel. He has played seven games so far for Fremantle in his debut season, averaging just under 14 disposals.
Carter is looking to play his third AFL game, the 19-year-old defender made his debut in round 20 against Geelong and also played for Freo against St Kilda.
Jones is yet to play for Fremantle in 2019. Against Swan Districts, the ruckman racked up 48 hitouts and seven tackles.
Bouncedown for the clash is at 4.10pm ACST (2.40pm AWST) and will be broadcast live into Perth on Channel 7 and Fox Footy.
