Fremantle president Dale Alcock has praised board member Sue Murphy after the former Water Corporation CEO was awarded an Order of Australia in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list.
A civil engineer who had a distinguished 25-year career at Clough Engineering before a decade-plus tenure as CEO of the Water Corporation, Murphy was awarded an AO for “distinguished service to the natural resources sector in Western Australia, and to engineering”.
Murphy has been a Fremantle board member since November 2016.
“From all of us at the Fremantle Football Club, congratulations and well done on being awarded this prestigious honour,” Alcock said.
“We all appreciate and respect the leadership you have shown over many years.
“Under your stewardship, the Water Corporation in Western Australia has been a leader in water management and securing our State’s water future.
“We are very pleased that you have been recognised with an Order of Australia in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list and equally proud that you are a director at Fremantle.”
