Twelve Fremantle-listed players were in action when Peel defeated East Fremantle by 21 points at East Fremantle Oval on Saturday.
Senior development coach Marc Webb runs through how the players fared.
Bailey Banfield
Played on ball for the game. He had 30 possessions, seven clearances, 12 tackles and kicked 2.1 in a really strong performance. He helped set up Peel with his pressure around the contest and his drive from the midfield.
Mitch Crowden
Playing in the midfield, Mitch returned to some really positive form and finished with 26 possessions, eight clearances, nine tackles and he kicked a goal. He was elite with his ball use, he helped set Peel up with his inside 50s. He was also clean and composed.
Hugh Dixon
Played in the ruck and forward for the game in a strong battle with East Fremantle’s Jon Griffin. He didn’t win a lot in the ruck with 11 hitouts but his follow-up around the contest with 11 ground balls, four clearances and 21 possessions was a real positive.
Jason Carter
Played across half back. Once again, Jason’s overlap run and ball use was clean. He helped set up some good drive with his ball use.
Tom North
Played on the wing and forward for the game. Tom had a slow start to the first half but he came into the game in the second half. He finished with 10 kicks from his 16 possessions and he helped set up the last quarter, where he had some good inside 50s.
Tobe Watson
Played across half back for the game. Tobe has showed some real improvement in his one-on-ones this week and his roll-off to mark was important for Peel. He was competitive when the ball hit the ground in a really positive performance from Tobe.
Ryan Nyhuis
Played across half back. Ryan showed his usual work-rate in his one-on-one contests and also was able to provide some rebound. He had nine marks and his open side run was much improved.
Travis Colyer
Played on the wing and forward for the majority of the game. He ended up with 16 possessions and helped Peel around the stoppages with his clearance work. He ended up with five first possessions and helped with his link and overlap run.
Dillon O’Reilly
Played as a key defender for the game. Dillon was competitive in his one-on-one battle with East Fremantle’s Luke Strnadica early. Later in the game, he gave Peel some really good depth and ability to stop East Fremantle’s quick rebound and helped set up across half back.
Luke Valente
Played on ball for the game. Luke was able to push forward and kick a goal and he finished with 12 possessions. His pressure around the contest was strong with six tackles.
Sam Sturt
Played forward and on the wing. Sam ran really hard to break the lines and to help set up plays. His pressure as a forward was much improved on the day.
Hayden Ballantyne
Played forward where pressure was impressive. He had five tackles to help lock the ball in Peel’s forward 50. He was strong and was able to hit the scoreboard with 1.1.
