Fremantle defender Philipa Seth is channeling her energy to play in this weekend's do or die match against North Melbourne.
The 25 year old was the 28th pick in the 2018 draft, and has played all six games of the 2019 season as a key defender.
Seth said the girls couldn’t be more excited to take on the second placed Roo’s in the race to make finals.
“I’m new this season but for the other girls this is their third season now, and in previous seasons they have probably under performed a little bit, so these girls are hot and raring to go”, she said.
“They want this more than anything…we’re all just really excited; bring it on we reckon.”
Seth was an outstanding half-back and midfielder for East Fremantle, and played a critical role in their 2011 premiership season, alongside fellow Fremantle Docker Alex Williams.
Williams will sit out this weekend after an ACL injury in last weekend’s clash with Geelong.
Seth said although Williams was a big loss, the team is capable of filling that role.
“She is a key lock down defender, but we know we’ve got quite the depth in our list; so it’s one soldier out and another one in”, she said.
Seth said her family will be joining the purple army this weekend in what they hope to be a lock-out crowd.
“We’re just trying to encourage everyone to come down and hopefully get a lock-out, which is 8000,” she said.
“Our fans are usually really really loud and proud, and we want that energy at the game this Saturday”.
Fremantle host North Melbourne this Saturday, March 16 at Fremantle Oval at 4:15pm.
