After an outstanding win against Geelong, it will be a hard task for the selectors to make any changes for this Sunday’s clash with St Kilda at Marvel Stadium. 

While there are no expected changes due to injury, there were number of impressive performances in the WAFL with players continuing to put their hands up for selection. 

Here’s who could come in for the clash.

Cam McCarthy
Fremantle went with a small forward line against the Cats, but McCarthy could be first in line should Freo opt to add height up front.
McCarthy kicked 2.1 for Peel against Claremont on Saturday, and he brought the pressure with a season-high six tackles.

Ryan Nyhuis
The defender was held over as an emergency for Freo’s clash with Geelong and didn’t play in the WAFL at the weekend. Nyhuis last played for Peel against East Fremantle, taking an impressive nine marks to go with his 16 disposals and three tackles. 

Travis Colyer
The speedy outside midfielder was given a run inside against Claremont, picking up 26 disposals, 11 clearances and nine tackles. Colyer has played 10 games in 2019, last playing for Freo against Hawthorn in round 17.

Hugh Dixon
Senior coach Ross Lyon threw Dixon’s name in the ring for potential selection during Wednesday’s media conference. Lyon praised the 196cm forward’s work in the WAFL, highlighting that the 20-year-old could be in line for a debut this season.
“Yes (Dixon could debut) he’s been improving,” Lyon said.
“He can really play the game and he’s a young tall that’s building his body. He’s come to hand and is playing some good football. It’s nice that he’s putting his hand up.” 

Sam Sturt
Lyon also highlighted 189cm general forward Sam Sturt as a potential debutant this season. Sturt arrived at Fremantle with pick no.17 in the 2019 NAB AFL National Draft. The 19-year-old impressed with his aerial marking ability against Claremont, taking five marks to go with his 17 disposals.

Brett Bewley
The first-year player was omitted form the Fremantle lineup after an off day against the Bulldogs. Bewley returned to the WAFL with a 16 disposal and one goal performance against Claremont.

Hayden Ballantyne
Ballantyne kicked two goals to go with his three tackles and 10 disposals against Claremont. The small forward has played two AFL games this season, last playing for Fremantle against the Western Bulldogs.
