Fremantle had an open training session in wintry conditions this morning ahead of Saturday’s Elimination Final against Geelong at the MCG.
As expected, Matthew Pavlich was an absentee from the track. The captain has been on a light training program over the last month.
Matt de Boer, who missed last week’s game against Melbourne, trained with the squad, as did Kepler Bradley, who also missed the game.
Luke McPharlin made a brief appearance on the track, completing some very short runs to test out his injured hamstring.
Antoni Grover and Alex Silvagni - possible candidates to fill McPharlin’s key defensive post for the upcoming game - all trained.
Towards the end of the session, the squad broke up into two groups, one comprising players who have been competing in the WAFL, and the other in the AFL side.
Notably, Alex Silvagni joined the AFL players, while Grover trained with the WAFL group.
Hayden Ballantyne, Tendai Mzungu and Lee Spurr did not join the main group, instead having a few light runs and skills practice.
David Mundy also did not make an appearance.
