What it means for St Kilda: Caretaker coach Brett Ratten has led the Saints to two wins and a brave road loss to Adelaide, strengthening his cause to be appointed to the role in a full-time capacity. Another impressive outing could only help, and would give the members reason to believe the club is on the right track.
What it means for Fremantle: A win and significant percentage outside the top eight, finals are nevertheless still on the radar and playing in September would be quite an achievement considering the tough run of injuries Fremantle have had among their tall stocks.
The stat: Saints forward Josh Bruce has clunked 38 contested marks this season, which sees him ranked No.5 in the competition for that stat.
The match-up: Hunter Clark v Adam Cerra
These two are unlikely to spend time on each other, with both used across half-back, but the pairing make for an interesting comparison. Cerra was drafted at pick No.5 in 2017 and Clark went two selections later, and have proven classy ball-users in sides that can waste the footy. While Cerra outperformed the Saint last year, Clark has found his groove in recent times.
It’s a big week for: Bradley Hill
The last time Fremantle played at Marvel Stadium, they were outrun by a fast-paced Western Bulldogs outfit. Fremantle and Bradley Hill need to make use of the quick Marvel deck, where Hill can use his pace to carry the ball through the midfield and deliver to the forwards.
Big call: Superstar skipper Nat Fyfe to produce one of the finest outings of his career, racking up 42 disposals and three goals despite being shadowed by Jack Steele.
