Nat Fyfe is one step closer to returning to the Fremantle lineup, named in the extended squad for Sunday’s clash with the Western Bulldogs at Marvel Stadium.
The Fremantle captain is one of five potential inclusions for the clash, joined by Hayden Ballantyne, Bailey Banfield, Mitch Crowden and Lachie Schultz in the squad of 25.
Cam McCarthy is the only omission at this stage from the team that faced Sydney.
Fyfe missed the Sydney game due to an elbow infection, and the midfielder will need to get through Friday’s main session prior to being locked in for the trip east.
Freo v Bulldogs: Delayed on free-to-air
Both Crowden and Banfield starred for Peel in their most recent WAFL appearance.
Crowden had 26 disposals, nine tackles and a goal while Banfield racked up 32 disposals, 12 tackles and two goals.
Ballantyne also goaled with his five tackles for Peel, while Schultz was held over as an emergency and did not play in the clash.
In Schultz’s most recent WAFL appearance, he had 22 disposals and two goals against East Perth in round 14.
Versatile forward/ruck Rory Lobb has retained his place in the extended squad despite injuring his shoulder against Sydney.
Like Fyfe, Lobb is listed as a test for the game against the Bulldogs and will need to get through Friday’s session to earn selection.
Bounce down for the clash is at 1.10pm EST (11.10am EST) and the game will be broadcast live into Perth on Fox Footy and streamed on Kayo and the AFL Live app.
The clash will be on a delayed broadcast on free-to-air television, commencing at 2pm WST on 7mate.
