Fremantle have suffered a 91-point loss at the hands of West Coast in RAC Derby 50 at Optus Stadium on Saturday night.
A wasteful Freo were unable to match a clinical West Coast in the 2.19 (31) to 19.8 (122) loss.
Darcy Tucker toiled hard in Freo’s midfield with a career-high 29 disposals, while Walters was busy with 23 disposals and 10 inside 50s.
The heavily anticipated matchup between Nat Fyfe and Elliot Yeo was a stalemate, with Fyfe finishing the night with 21 disposals and Yeo with 19.
West Coast were the clear winners in the middle, dominating the clearances 46-33 and leading the contested possessions 168-158.
Surprisingly, Fremantle still led the inside 50 count 60-50, however the Eagles feasted on their higher-quality entries.
Impressive defensive performances from Brad Sheppard, who was awarded the Glendinning-Allan Medal, Shannon Hurn and Jeremy McGovern also helped keep Freo’s forward advances at bay.
