Michael Walters has been charged by AFL match review officer Michael Christian for a headbutt during Fremantle’s clash with Melbourne at the MCG on Saturday.
The mid/forward has been handed a one-match sanction for the incident, which involved Melbourne’s Jay Lockhart in the third quarter.
Based on the available video evidence, the incident was classified as intentional conduct, low impact and high contact.
Fremantle have until 9am (WST) on Tuesday 25 June to advise the AFL if they will contest the charge at the tribunal.
In other incidents, Luke Ryan has been offered a $1500 sanction for wrestling.
