Fremantle have named five inclusions to the extended squad that will face Brisbane in Sir Doug Nicholls Round on Sunday at Optus Stadium.

Midfielders Mitch Crowden, Brett Bewley and Bailey Banfield, forward Cam McCarthy and defender Griffin Logue have all come into the extended squad of 26.

At this stage, Matt Taberner is Fremantle’s only omission, with the forward ruled out for the season with a foot injury sustained in round nine against Essendon.

McCarthy is the closest positional replacement for Taberner. The tall forward started the season strongly - kicking 10 goals in the opening four games before going goalless in rounds five and six.

This is the first time Logue has been named in the squad since the final round of the 2017 season, after missing the 2018 season with a foot injury and the start of 2019 with a hamstring injury.

Crowden has averaged 23.6 disposals per game from four appearances for Peel this season and has totalled an impressive 27 tackles his past two games for the Thunder.

Banfield is averaging 22.8 disposals for Peel this season and is looking to add to his three AFL games played at the start of the season.

Bewley continues to press his case for a debut, with the running midfielder collecting 21 disposals and laying six tackles on Saturday for Peel against Claremont.

Fremantle will finalise their starting 22 on Friday, which will be announced on fremantlefc.com.au at 3pm WST.

Round 10 in the AFL is the first of two weeks that celebrate Sir Doug Nicholls Round. Freo will wear their purple ‘home’ Indigenous jumper designed by Troy Cook for the game, which is proudly presented by Woodside.

Bouncedown for the clash is at 3.20pm.
