- Freo surge comes too late
David Mundy has polled the equal most coaches’ votes from Saturday’s clash with Essendon at Marvel Stadium
The reliable midfielder earned eight votes from senior coaches Ross Lyon and John Worsfold, placing at the top of the votes alongside Bomber David Zaharakis.
Mundy starred with 34 disposals, 17 contested possessions, nine clearances and a goal in the low scoring affair.
Running at 88% efficiency, Mundy was one of Fremantle’s best and he was the only Freo player to poll votes in the seven-point loss to Essendon.
With 26 votes, Mundy has moved up into 18th position on the leader board and joins teammate Nat Fyfe in the top 20 after nine rounds.
