Bradley Hill is set for round one and ‘excited’ at the thought of taking on North Melbourne at Optus Stadium next Sunday.
The midfielder spoke from the Sirens Purple Haze High Tea at Crown Perth on Sunday afternoon and said a cork injury sustained in the JLT series wouldn’t stop him from running out for round one.
“It’s come up well, I should be ready to go this week, I’ve never had a bad cork, obviously this one was a bigger one,” Hill said.
“I’ll be ready to go, I’ll be training all week. I’m excited, I can’t wait to play against North Melbourne this weekend, it’s been a long pre-season so hopefully we can get a win.”
Hill, who is an ambassador for the Starlight Children’s Foundation, was joined by fellow ambassadors Aaron Sandilands, Andrew Brayshaw, Griffin Logue and Bailey Banfield at the high tea at Crown to help raise funds for the foundation.
After securing a spot in the AFLW Preliminary Finals, Evie Gooch, Gabby O’Sullivan, Ange Stannett, Kellie Gibson and Philip Seth also attended the function, where the players received a warm welcome when entering the room.
Hill said he had been following the women's teams breakout season and looked forward to supporting them through their finals campaign.
“They have a big game this weekend and we hope they can go all the way and play in the grand final,” Hill said.
“We are very excited for the girls, they’ve had a terrific year so, hopefully, they can finish it off strong.”
The Sirens are female membership group for the Fremantle Dockers. Each year they raise funds for the Starlight Children’s Foundation through the club’s Purple Haze Game.
This year’s Purple Haze Game will take place on Sunday 7 April at Optus Stadium when Fremantle take on St Kilda.
