The Fremantle Dockers are proud to announce a new two-year community partnership with Wanneroo Secondary College who are coming on board as a Partner School, further strengthening the Club's commitment to developing Australian Rules Football in Western Australia's northern corridor.

Wanneroo Secondary College, known for its highly regarded Specialist AFL program, will join Emmanuel College and Comet Bay College as Partner Schools of the Fremantle Football Club. This collaboration aligns with the Club's Next Generation Academy (NGA) zone in the West Perth District.

The partnership aims to enhance physical education programs, increase engagement in AFL, and provide unique opportunities for talent identification and development. Students will benefit from exposure to professional players and coaches, while school staff will have access to coaching education and professional development opportunities.

Specialist AFL Coordinator and HPE teacher at Wanneroo Secondary College Thomas Moscarda expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership.

"Wanneroo Secondary College, its staff, students, and the wider community are extremely excited to partner with the Fremantle Dockers.

“This collaboration offers outstanding opportunities to expand and grow the game for both boys and girls, and will no doubt strengthen Fremantle's presence in the northern corridor.

“We look forward to working with the club, its staff, and their programs over a long period of time."

The college boasts impressive facilities, including access to four AFL ovals, an indoor court, a strength and conditioning weights gym, and local pools.

The program also offers unique experiences such as the annual Melbourne Football Tour, which includes attending the ANZAC Day game, touring the MCG and AFL club facilities, and analysing high-performance training environments.

Fremantle Dockers Head of Community Engagement Simon Eastaugh sees the connection to Wanneroo Secondary College as a positive opportunity to grow grassroots football in the community through this partner school initiative.

“Partnering with Wanneroo Secondary College enables our football club to contribute to the growth of community football in the northern corridor of Perth, by providing resources and experiences for students that will only enhance their ongoing development,” Eastaugh said.

“By establishing a partner school in the north of Perth, our Club NGA can also establish a base to support our talent programs in the West Perth zone and ensure NGA participants in the area are given the best chance to shine”

The partnership between the Fremantle Dockers and Wanneroo Secondary College represents a significant step forward in nurturing young talent and promoting AFL in the community.
