Fremantle Chief Executive Officer Simon Garlick proclaimed that the foundations built over the past few seasons have placed the Club in a position to compete with the best of the best for years to come at the Club’s Season Launch at Crown.
“We have laid strong foundations in the past four years. We have built solid walls of financial security and member and fan engagement. We have raised the roof with a playing list designed to contend, and at the heart of our home is a culture and strategy built for ongoing success,” Garlick said Thursday morning.
“One of these items alone won’t ensure we win a flag, just like the addition of one coach, psych, or key player won’t - but when you add the little things up, like we have over the last five years, we are giving ourselves the best chance we’ve had to be in contention for a decade or more.
JL: "Internally we've got high expectations but our focus is on making the most of everyday - If we get that right our performances will look after themselves.

Externally expectations will also be high but we can't get caught up in the ups and downs of the year."#foreverfreo pic.twitter.com/uBWQ8gxNjF
“2025 is not about patchwork fixes. It’s about cementing our place at the top of the competition. We are not here for a one-off shot - we are building for sustained contention.
“We believe that in 2025 and beyond, what we’ve built here will be something opponents fear, the competition respects, and most importantly, our fans love.”
The men’s AFL playing list was presented with their 2025 jumpers for the season, with the coaching group and select players from each line speaking in front of the 650 guests in attendance.
Fremantle senior coach Justin Longmuir said it is well known that Fremantle is a tough team to play against, but focusing on the process every day is what can take this team to the next level.
"The group that we have at the moment is a really connected and united group that love being together, love hanging out and love doing it for the Freo family."

"Internally we've got high expectations, but our focus is on making the most of everyday. If we get that right, our performances will look after themselves,” Longmuir said.
Closing out the morning’s proceedings, Fremantle President Chris Sutherland echoed Garlick’s opening address.
“The time to contend is upon us and the belief and trust from the board in this playing group and coaching staff has never been stronger,” Sutherland said.
“We feel the pieces are in place, and we know that each and every one of you shares that same internal belief that your actions over the years will contribute to Fremantle’s legacy and make it your own.”
Fremantle will play an intraclub game on Sunday (23 February), before taking on Melbourne in Mandurah on Sunday March 2 at Rushton Park for the Club’s only AAMI Community Series game.
Fremantle’s Round 1 clash is against Geelong at GMHBA Stadium on Saturday 15 March.
