Fremantle captain Alex Pearce has tipped the Club’s forward line to reach new heights in 2025, driven by the continued evolution of key forwards Jye Amiss and Josh Treacy, combined with the acquisition of x-factor forward Shai Bolton.
Speaking to the media following Monday morning’s training session, Pearce said that although the team is looking to improve in several areas, he expects the natural growth of the forward line to be a standout in 2025.
“There are a few different areas we’d like to improve on, but I think the fact that we’ve got some of those young forwards who took a step last year and are going to take another step this year will hopefully hold us in good stead,” Pearce said.
“We are looking to improve on last season, clearly, and part of that is polishing our forward entries and improving our scoring.”
In 2024, Fremantle kicked 286 goals, the most the Club has recorded in a home-and-away season since 2014, when they kicked 297 goals in 22 games.
Although pre-season training has only just begun, Pearce said he could already see a noticeable improvement in key forwards Amiss and Treacy.

“I see great potential in JT (Treacy), who obviously took such a huge step last year and was one of the dominant forwards in the competition,” Pearce noted.
“I really think Jye is ready to take a step up as well. He did so much work last year that went underrated, so I think both of them will have big years.
“They are both really fit, really hungry, and are becoming better leaders. It will be great for our forward line to have those two not only improving but also driving their own standards and pushing everyone around them.”
things we love to see 😌

In addition to the growth of the current forwards, Pearce said Bolton’s addition to the team would add polish to an already dangerous forward line.
“It’s been great having him (Bolton) in,” Pearce said.
“He and Quinton (Narkle) have been fantastic additions to the group.
“Bolton is pretty unique in the competition with his agility and how quick he moves. He’s got that bit of polish with the ball.
"It’s only early days, but I think he kicked five against us at some stage last year, so we know he’s a talented player who can excel in the forward line and the midfield.”
Fremantle’s playing group will continue their pre-season until mid-December before taking a break over Christmas and returning in January.
