Jordan Clark’s 2024 season saw the 23-year-old making waves beyond just the football field, co-hosting the popular Better Down Back podcast, powered by MyPlace, alongside AFLW star Emma O'Driscoll.

The speedy defender’s foray into the media landscape has been met with enthusiasm from Fremantle fans, providing unique insights into the Club's inner workings.

"It's something I really enjoy, and it's a bit of fun and light-hearted," Clark shared in a post-season chat.

The show, which builds on the legacy of former Freo Dockers David Mundy and Griffin Logue’s Old Bull, Young Buck podcast, has quickly become a fan favourite. Clark even playfully joking that his hosting skills surpassed those of his former teammates.

"I saw Dave (David Mundy) after a game the other week and just gave him a little clip that he’s not quite on my level with the podcast," Clark laughed.

"In all seriousness, it’s a bit of fun and on the back of Dave and Griff’s hard work, we’ve picked it up again. Hopefully it’s an enjoyable segment the fans can watch every week."

While Clark’s off-field endeavours have garnered attention, his on-field performance has been equally impressive. Coming off a career-best season, the defender has cemented his place as a key player in Fremantle’s backline.

However, true to his character, Clark remains focused on team success rather than individual accolades.

"I’m not in it for individual success or anything like that. I’m in it to make this Club and this team the best it can be," Clark stated.

This team-first mentality aligns perfectly with Fremantle’s culture and aspirations.

Clark’s commitment to the Club extends beyond his current form. Having signed a three-year contract extension in April, he will remain at the Club until at least 2028.

"It’s probably been my most memorable year of football. Signing on again to be here at Freo, in the state I love, where I grew up with my family and friends, and playing footy with some of my best mates, it’s good fun," he shared.

The defender’s optimism about Fremantle’s future is palpable.

"We are probably only just starting to scratch the surface of what we can become as a footy Club," Clark said, hinting at the potential within the current squad.

"You always want to play finals; you always want to play in those big games and that’s something we strive towards,” he said.

“It’s quite heartbreaking when you fall short.  Walking off the ground (following the round 24 loss to Port Adelaide) the other week, I was flat as a tack. But seeing the group next to me with a large chunk of us going to be together for a long time, it’s exciting.”

When asked for a message to the Fremantle faithful, Clark’s message was simple.

“Stick fat like I know you already have, but it’s an exciting time,” the defender concluded.
