Fremantle AFLW High Performance Manager Corey Morris provided an injury update ahead of the Club’s first home game of the season, and said the side pulled up well following the week one match against Essendon last Saturday.

Morris was pleased utility Sarah Verrier would be available for selection in week two, after coming back from lower leg soreness.

“Sarah Verrier played some time in the scrimmage,” Morris said.

Recruit Gabby Biedenweg-Webster is coming back from a calf niggle sustained in the pre-season hit-out against Collingwood and is also expected to be available.

“We expect Gabby to be available this week. She did a solid conditioning session over the weekend,” Morris said.

Morris said forward Mikayla Morrison will look to have her first run this week after injuring her left knee in a training session a few weeks ago, with her return to football to be determined.

“She (Morrison) will return to run at some point this week, which is exciting for her. We’ll work through her return to football after that,” Morris said.

Draftee Holly Ifould (back) and forward Serena Gibbs (knee) are both on track to be available for selection by rounds four and five.

“Holly integrated into some football last week and we’ll look to continue to progress her,” Morris said.

“Serena has been building her running volumes. We’ll look to get her into some football this week as well.”
