Young midfielder Neil Erasmus has been recalled to the team to replace the suspended Nat Fyfe in Fremantle’s clash with Essendon at the MCG on Sunday afternoon.

The Bombers clash will be Erasmus’ fourth AFL game of the season, last featuring for Fremantle in the round 6 RAC Derby earlier in the year.

The 20-year-old has been a consistent performer in the WAFL, averaging 31 disposals, 6.3 marks and 5.1 tackles per game (excluding the East Fremantle clash where he was concussed at the opening bounce).

Fyfe will miss the match after receiving a one-week suspension for Striking West Coast Eagle Jai Culley.

Bailey Banfield, Jaeger O’Meara, Tom Emmett, James Aish and Erasmus make up the Club’s five-man bench, with one of them to be named the substitute an hour before bouncedown on Sunday.

Will Brodie, Cooper Simpson and Liam Reidy have been named as emergencies for the clash.

Sunday will be the first time Fremantle have played Essendon at the MCG since round 14, 1999.

The Club is currently on a two-game win streak against the Bombers, winning the last two meetings by an average margin of 40 points.

Caleb Serong will lead the side as captain in his 100th milestone game, in the absence of skipper Alex Pearce who is sidelined with a forearm injury.

The star midfielder is also on track to set a new VFL/AFL disposal record with a chance to play a 71st consecutive game with at least 20 disposals to his name.

Bouncedown will be at 1.20pm WST (3.20pm local) and will be broadcast live on the Seven Network and Fox Sports 503 as well as streamed live on Kayo.
