Fremantle senior coach Justin Longmuir has said the Club will look to bring a mix of their own strategy while also trying to nullify some of the threats the Swans have on offer ahead of this Saturday's clash.

“When you come up against a team that is three games clear on top of the ladder, they are obviously doing a lot right,” Longmuir said during his Wednesday morning media conference.

“The goal-kicking mids is one, their high half forwards are dangerous, their backline is set up really well and they bounce out of there as well and obviously defend really well because they are the number one defending team in the competition.

“Every team presents challenges, clearly this team (Sydney) presents more than others with personnel and system, but we want to go out there and see where we are at as well and then play our way to some degree as well."

When questioned about how the Club would plan to attack Sydney, Longmuir said the key would be finding the right balance in strategy.

“Trying to change your game that much where our players are confused and lack confidence because we’re not playing our way, versus taking some strengths off the opposition.

“It’s no different to last week, we will try and get that balance right and try take a few things away from them and try and play our way when it's right.

“I think we are confident that when we value the right things and execute the game plan it holds up against anyone.”

The last time the two Clubs met was in round nine at Optus Stadium earlier this year, with Sydney prevailing 48-point victors after an inaccurate day in front of goal for the home side.

We haven’t really talked about being the underdogs, I think that sells the message that we are inferior and want to go over there with belief

"It will have to be one of our more connected games of the year", Longmuir said

“I think when we play our best footy, we do it as an 18 or a 22 and we are going to need that this week. We aren’t relying on just one person.”

The last time Fremantle played the Swans at the SCG, the Club walked away 17-point winners with Longmuir saying that result would give the list confidence this weekend.

Fremantle holds a 4-3 win-loss record when playing away from Optus Stadium so far this season.
