Forward speedster Michael Frederick has been named at half forward for Sunday's clash with Melbourne in Alice Springs, after missing the Club's draw with Collingwood last Friday.

Neil Erasmus’ WAFL form has seen the 20-year-old added to Fremantle's 26-man squad, while versatile forward Sam Sturt rounds out the Club’s inclusions - with the pair both named on the extended interchange.

Frederick's added pace to the forward line could prove a handy inclusion for Fremantle at a ground that has seen low scores in recent times.

In the last three matches played at TIO Traeger Park, the traveling away team has averaged 55 points, with a high score of 69.

Erasmus has averaged 35.25 disposals, 7.25 marks and five tackles per game for Peel so far this year.

The last time the Club played in Alice Springs was in 2005, when now senior coach Justin Longmuir booted two goals late in the final quarter, being named as one of the best on ground for the practice match.

The Club’s extended bench of Erasmus, Sturt, Bailey Banfield, Tom Emmett, Matthew Johnson, Corey Wagner, Brandon Walker and Michael Walters will be trimmed to five players at final team selection.

Fremantle’s final team will be named at 3pm WST on Friday afternoon at fremantlefc.com.au.
