Young defender Josh Draper, plus forwards Jye Amiss and Sam Switkowski are all tests to play against Richmond at the MCG on Sunday.

High Performance Manager Phil Merriman confirming Draper’s hamstring concern from the win over the Western Bulldogs is only minor.

The 20-year-old was subbed out of the Optus Stadium clash at quarter-time on Saturday night.

“Josh came out of the game as a precaution – he had a tight hamstring,” said Merriman.

“Pleasingly he has presented really well so we’re going to take him through the gears and he’ll be a test to play this week.”

Key forward Jye Amiss is also a test to play after suffering concussion in the round 6 RAC Derby and missing the Bulldogs clash.

“The plan is to have Jye available this week,” Merriman said.

“He’s whipped through the protocols. He has one more hurdle to jump at main training, but should be right to go.”

Pressure forward Sam Switkowski could also put his hand up for selection after missing two games with delayed concussion following the round 5 loss to Port Adelaide.

“Sam’s still got to tick the last couple of boxes of concussion protocols, but he’ll be a test to play,” said Merriman.

Young ruck/forward Odin Jones is also on target to play with Peel Thunder after suffering concussion in pre-season match simulation against the West Coast Eagles. If cleared to return, Jones will be on managed minutes in the WAFL this weekend.

Key defender Brennan Cox continues his rehabilitation from hamstring surgery and remains two months away from a return to action.
