The selection table

Freo - Hayden Ballantyne will return from suspension to give Freo an injection of pace. Stephen Hill could also push for selection after missing the Essendon game, while Zac Dawson is listed as out for one week on Freo's injury list. Greg Broughton and Chris Mayne pulled up sore after a collision last Saturday, but both should be right to go against the Pies.

Collingwood - Star midfielder Scott Pendlebury has been ruled out with a cracked tibia. Defender Chris Tarrant is a chance to return against his old side, as is forward Alan Didak, who has made a quicker than expected recovery from an adductor tear.

Who’s hot

Freo - Michael Barlow: In the absence of a number of Freo midfielders, Barlow was brilliant against the Bombers on Saturday night. He'll be called upon again to help take on Collingwood's impressive on-ball brigade this Saturday.

Collingwood - Dayne Beams: Without Scott Pendlebury and with Luke Ball out for the entire season, the player that has taken his game to the next level for the Magpies has been Dayne Beams. It's arguable that he's been the best player in the AFL over the past month, averaging more than 35 disposals a game and kicking seven goals in that period.

X-Factor

Freo - Stephen Hill: Fremantle missed Hill's pace and ability to break the lines and kick the ball long on Saturday night. His presence against the Magpies would give Freo a massive boost.

Collingwood: Dane Swan: The reigning Brownlow Medallist has had 80 disposals in his past two games and is a match-winner for the Magpies. No midfielder in the AFL runs harder than Swan to win the ball.

Key match-ups

Ryan Crowley v Dane Swan:
If Crowley is tasked with the job on Dane Swan, it will be one of the biggest challenges he's faced as a tagger. The 2011 Brownlow Medallist is at the top of his game.

Luke McPharlin v Travis Cloke: Cloke is a vital component of the Collingwood forward line, using his strong contested marking ability to capitalise on the hard work of his midfielders. He kicked five crucial goals against West Coast. McPharlin is a great competitor and he will be desperate to atone after having his colours lowered by Essendon's Michael Hurley on Saturday.

Toyota AFL Dream Team

Freo - Greg Broughton:
Broughton has averaged 86 points per game in his past three against Collingwood. It will be interesting to see if he is played as a forward again and how that affects his DT scoring.

Collingwood - Dane Swan: Swan is the ultimate Dream Team performer in recent seasons. He's averaged 121 points per game over his past four games against Fremantle.
