It was a first quarter blitz of eight goals that helped Richmond hand Fremantle its first loss of 2015 in Round 10.

That quarter was just one of two times Fremantle conceded more than three goals in the opening term this season.

Freo is holding teams to an average of just 2.5 goals in the first quarter.

Training Report: Depth growing

Lyon said he had assessed the first quarter from Round 10 following the loss but will not revisit it before Saturday’s game.

“I’ve watched it after we played them once, but that’s been it,” he said.

“There were a couple of simple things they did.”

Lyon was full of praise for Richmond that sit just four points outside the top four.

Using the MCG crowd to advantage

“They are clearly very, very good,” he said.

“They are bordering on being a great team.

“Their midfield is elite; (Trent) Cotchin, (Brett) Deledio and (Dustin) Martin.

“They’re a pretty significant challenge.”

Fremantle play Richmond at the MCG on Saturday 25 July. Bounce down is at 4.35pm.
