Fremantle Football Club has announced an operating profit of $1.64m after the royalty payment of $1.84m to the WAFC for the 2023 financial year. The Club’s underlying operating profit before the WAFC royalty contribution was $3.47m.
President Chris Sutherland reflected on the Club's third consecutive year of achieving an operating profit of more than one million dollars.
“Our financial stability is a direct result of our collective efforts and strategic focus and ensures we remain a leader in the AFL as a financially independent club,” Sutherland said.
“To also see us achieve record membership of 62,245 is a testament to our loyal fanbase."
The Club’s revenue growth has enabled substantial investment back into its key Club pillars of Community and Football.
Sutherland also highlighted the Club's community contributions including the investment from the Club and the City of Cockburn, in the upcoming financial year, to build a 250-seat spectator viewing area, as well as state-of-the-art AFL Women’s and community changerooms at its home base in Cockburn Central.
“The expansion at Cockburn is more than just scaling up infrastructure to meet the growing demands of our current facility; it’s about building a legacy for community engagement and sports participation,” Sutherland said.
“Our WAFC Royalty contribution of $1.84m and continued investment in our Next Generation Academies and the Purple Hands Foundation demonstrate the significant and positive impacts we have across the community."
