Serena Gibbs will make her first appearance in a Walyalup jumper when the team runs out against St Kilda as a part of AFLW Indigenous Round on Sunday at Walyalup Oval.
She is joined by midfield star Kiara Bowers, who makes her return from a knee injury.
Ebony Antonio (knee soreness) and Jo Cregg (knee) are the two outs at this stage, with the final team to be confirmed on Friday afternoon at 2pm on fremantlefc.com.au.
Makaela Tuhakaraina, Sarah Wielstra and Roxy Roux are all potential inclusions, named on the extended interchange alongside Mikayla Hyde, Dana East, Tahleah Mulder, Airlie Runnalls and Amy Mulholland.
A versatile tall, Gibbs was traded to Walyalup in the off-season after playing six games for Carlton between 2021 and 2022.
The 178cm tall has been named across centre half forward as a potential role replacement for Antonio.
Gibbs was informed of the news during Thursday’s team meeting and she said she was thrilled with the news.
"I'm really excited, I cried because I was overwhelmed!" Gibbs said.
"I was speaking at an appearance this morning about how Western Australia is my new home and how I really love it here at the Club.
"It's very rewarding getting the call-up. I'm very grateful for the opportunity to continue my footy journey here and grow and develop.
"They (my teammates) are like my sisters, I'm really loving it and the purple just suits me."
The jumper tells the story of the Club being born from Walyalup, the area now known as Fremantle, highlighting these through the colours of the South Fremantle and East Fremantle Football Clubs.
The Peter Farmer Designs Team worked closely with board member Colleen Hayward and her nephew Jason Barrow on the design, with the final design developed and produced by Kayley Emery and Peter Farmer Jnr.
