Fremantle fans are already planning, creating and fine-tuning their ultimate Fremantle lineup with the club’s ‘Freo’s 25 since 95 – presented by The West Australian’ on the Fremantle Dockers official app.

Some have already published their teams on social media, while others are sharing their opinions on who the ‘must-select’ players are.

To get the Fremantle fans inspired, Mark Duffield, the chief football writer at The West Australian, will publish his team up for all see in this Saturday’s edition of The West.

Speaking at three-quarter time of Fremantle’s round one clash against North Melbourne at Optus Stadium, Duffield gave the Freo faithful some insight into who he might be selecting.

“It’s safe to say the current captain Nathan Fyfe will be up there, as well as past captain Matthew Pavlich, who will be an obvious inclusion,” Duffield said.

“There’s a great power defender in Luke McPharlin and one of the great forwards Tony Modra, who might sneak in.

“Then there’s the stalwarts like Shane Parker and Shaun McManus, they’ll be around the mark as well.”

Fans can select any player from the top-100 representatives in club history, with Duffield saying he was looking for a mixture of the best talent as well as the big contributors.

“I’m looking for a mixture of quality and longevity when picking my team,” Duffield said.

“There are great players and there are those who have provided great service for the club, I’ll try and recognise both of those things.”

Fans will have plenty of time to shape their ultimate top 25, with voting closing on Sunday 26 May. You can make a start and save your team at any time before you officially submit your final 25.

Once submitted, you will be able to share your team on social media so you can compare with your Freo mates’ selections.

The final 25 since ’95 team will be announced at the Fremantle Dockers 25-year Gala Ball at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre on Friday 28 June, 2019.

Five lucky fans who submit a team will be drawn at random to attend the gala event with a guest and be part of the celebrations.

Tickets to the event will go on sale to the public in late April via www.fremantlefc.com.au.

Happy voting Purple Army!
