With just over a week until Christmas Day, Fremantle youngster Max Duffy got into the festive spirit by helping wrap presents in the Murray St Mall for HeartKids WA.
The City of Perth has nominated HeartKids WA as its charity of choice for the 2014 Festival of Christmas Gift Wrapping.
For just a gold coin donation, you can have one present wrapped with accompanying gift tags and all funds raised go directly to the charity to support the families of children with heart disease and fund further research to help find a cure.
The Fremantle Dockers are pleased to announce HeartKids WA as one of its six community event partners for 2015 and player ambassador Max Duffy was happy just to help out.
"Obviously I have a pretty personal and close connection with HeartKids WA and it’s fantastic they’ve taken me on board and I’m really happy to help out and raise as much awareness as possible," he said.
"The club’s has been really helpful in taking them on board and I think it works well for both parties.
"Anything to raise awareness and exposure for HeartKids WA, I’m willing to do."
HeartKids WA CEO Mark Gummer said the charity was delighted to become an official partner of the club.
“We have been so impressed with Max Duffy and his dedication to our heroic heart kids in memory of his mate Stephen Rigg and we are honoured that Max has agreed to be a HeartKids WA ambassador,” he said.
“Right now HeartKids WA is raising funds to send heart kid teens on an awesome camp to build self-esteem and life skills and you can help by donating on our website www.heartkidswa.org.au or SMS the word Santa to 0477 333 444 to donate.”
HeartKidsWA joins Breast Cancer Care WA, the Mental Health Commission, the Dyslexia-Speld Foundation, PlusLife and Manna Inc as 2015 community event partners of the Fremantle Dockers.
They will sit alongside the club’s long-term principal charity partners; Starlight Children’s Foundation, Redkite and Constable Care Child Safety Foundation.
These community event partnerships will be reviewed annually, and the club will select and support one marquee event for each organisation in 2015.
