Fremantle are hopeful two of their experienced players will be available for round one’s RAC Derby against West Coast on Sunday at Fremantle Oval.

Ebony Antonio (knee) and Laura Pugh (wrist) are both pushing to play in the first game of the season and face an important week on the training track.

AFLW Senior Physio Brett Fletcher gave a promising update on the pair.

“Laura is tracking really well, she’s recovering from the wrist injury she sustained a few weeks ago. Pending tests, she’ll be available for this weekend,” Fletcher said.

“Ebony is the same, she’s put in a big week of training in the last month. We’re hoping she’ll be available this week pending tests as well.”

Potential debutant Ariana Hetherington will also be in line for selection after progressing through the concussion protocols after sustaining a head knock at training.

Phil Seth (hand) and Roxy Roux (leg) will miss Fremantle’s early fixtures.

“Phil’s building from the hand fracture she sustained in a pre-season game against West Coast, we’re hoping she’ll be available for round three,” Fletcher said.

“Roxy’s been working through some shin soreness, we’re hoping she’ll be available for round four.”
