Pre-season training was in full swing on Monday morning as the senior players joined the training group for the first time.

A 3km time trial kicked off the session at Tompkins Park, Alfred Cove.

For the third year in a row, 21-year-old, Sam Menegola was first across the finish line.

Tendai Mzungu was second, followed closely by new recruit, Alex Pearce.

“Alex ran well, he impressed and he is obviously keen to make a good impact at the club,” Mzungu said.

“It was a tough deck but hopefully everyone got their targets.”

With the full squad now in pre-season training Mzungu said the group was focused.

“It was a tough day but the boys did really well,” he said.

“We enjoyed our break but we certainly have a bit of unfinished business.

“It all starts again and I’m looking forward to it.”
