Senior coach Justin Longmuir says it’s unlikely Brandon Walker will return to play this season after sustaining a significant knee injury during Fremantle’s loss to Collingwood on Saturday at the MCG.
There was a long delay in the third term when Walker was stretchered off after he landed awkwardly in a marking contest.
Longmuir said the Club would need to wait for the result of scans before knowing the full extent of the injury.
“He’s done something pretty serious,” Longmuir said.
“He’s sore, we’ll get him back and scan him but he’s going to miss a fair bit of footy I’d imagine.
“It’s too early to tell but (a return this season) is very unlikely.”

Longmuir has his fingers crossed Sean Darcy will be ok after the ruckman came off in the third term with an ankle injury.
“It was a bit of an innocuous injury, or the way it happened anyway,” Longmuir said.
“He’s gone over on his ankle. We’ll get him back and scan him.
“Hopefully it comes up alright.”
