More than 300 up and coming footballers took part in the Fremantle Footy Skills semi finals on Friday 7 July, with the winners booking their ticket to the Grand Final at Optus Stadium ahead of Fremantle’s round 21 clash with Brisbane.

Freo Footy Skills is a Fremantle Football Club and WA Football commission partnered program. It allows students the opportunity to participate in a range of fun physical activities, including Freo Fast Ball, Freo Kwick Kick and Freo Long Bomb.

The three events focus on the following abilities;

  • Freo Fast Ball is a team handballing competition
  • Freo Kwik Kick involves students kicking in pairs over a short distance for three minutes
  • Freo Long Bomb involves students kicking a football as far as they can

The top six in the Freo Long Bomb and Kwick Kick events have qualified for the Grand Final.
