Sean Darcy and Michael Frederick are set to make their returns for Saturday night’s important clash with Essendon at Optus Stadium.

Darcy has missed the past two Fremantle games following the bye after sustaining a hamstring injury in round 11 against Narrm.

Senior Coach Justin Longmuir confirmed Darcy would be good to go after he got through Wednesday night’s training session at Optus Stadium without any issue.

Frederick will play his 50th game after he was a late out against GWS due to an ankle injury, replaced in the line-up by Sam Sturt.

“Frederick and Darcy got through training, they’ve put their hand up for selection,” Longmuir said.

James Aish will not return however, with the midfielder set to spend at least another week on the sidelines due to a separate issue from the concussion sustained against Richmond in round 13.

“It’s not concussion related, he’s actually got a sore back which has come out of the blue,” Longmuir said.

“I don’t have any timeframes, he’s bounced back pretty quickly in the past when this has happened.

“It happened earlier in the week the last time this happened, which gave him a lot more time going into gameday whereas this was a bit later in the week, it will cost him at least one (game).”
