Matthew Pavlich has been given the honour of tossing the coin in Fremantle’s Domain Stadium farewell game on Sunday against Richmond.
The Freo legend revealed his game-day role on Thursday night’s Channel Nine news.
Pavlich’s role is just a part of Fremantle’s celebrations, with a Virgin Australia giveaway and ultra high-resolution 360 degree photo taken of the crowd at half time.
At full time, fans will be invited to complete a lap of honour on the ground followed by kick-to-kick.
Pavlich ran through some of his favourite Domain Stadium moments during the live cross from Subiaco.
“I have the great honour of tossing the coin in the last ever home game for the Dockers and as such, it gives me a great opportunity to relive some of my favourite moments here at Subi,” Pavlich said.
“The round 22, 2003 Derby when Daniel Kerr kicked goal of the year and Paul Medhurst kicked the sealer and Fremantle were home by 14 points.
“The round six 2006 Derby, a week after the infamous sirengate affair down in Launceston. Paul Hasleby kicks a goal with seconds to go to get Fremantle home by five points.
“The semi final win against win against Melbourne in 2006 was Fremantle’s first ever finals victory and it was a huge moment for the club.
“The biggest game ever for Fremantle at Domain Stadium, was the 2013 preliminary final against Sydney.
“From a personal perspective my 300th game against Geelong was a tremendous night and the round 23 victory against the Bulldogs in my last ever game last year was something special that I’ll never forget.
“There are many special memories here at Subiaco Oval.”
