Nat Fyfe will make his return to the starting 22 for the first time since round one when Walyalup take on Geelong on Saturday at Optus Stadium.

The forward / midfielder was named as the substitute against Hawthorn and Sydney as he was managed back into football after sustaining a plantar fascia injury.

He replaces young midfielder Neil Erasmus, who has been managed for the clash and named as an emergency alongside Will Brodie, Karl Worner and Matthew Johnson – who is now available after serving a two-game suspension.

One of the emergencies will be named as a substitute an hour before bounce down on fremantlefc.com.au.

Fyfe has had an impact when on the ground in the past fortnight, with 10 disposals and a goal from 32 per cent game time against Hawthorn and six disposals and five contested possessions from 25 per cent game time against Sydney.

He trained as a forward for most of the pre-season but spent significant time in the midfield as a sub, attending 11 centre bounces.

Fyfe trained fully mid-week and showed no signs of being held back. Senor Coach Justin Longmuir said mid-week that Walyalup had to be confident in Fyfe’s fitness to earn selection.

“He played 40 minutes (against Hawthorn) and probably 30 minutes (against Sydney). It’s a bit of a step up to play 80 or 90 minutes,” Longmuir said.

“We need to make sure he’s really confident in his foot and confident in his performance.”

The Sir Doug Nicholls Round clash will feature Walyalup wearing a jumper designed by Carly Grey in collaboration with Alex Pearce.

04:55

Bounce down for the clash is at 2.35pm and will be broadcast live into WA on Channel 7, Fox Footy and can be streamed on Kayo.
