West Coast Eagles midfielder Chris Masten has been handed a two match ban for biting Fremantle’s Nick Suban.
The incident occurred during the third term of Sunday’s Carlton Draught Derby.
The AFL released additional vision which showed Suban, after wrestling with Masten, pointing to his arm and indicating to the umpire that he had been bitten.
During the hearing, West Coast counsel alleged that Suban wrapped his arm forcefully around Masten's face and mouth and pressed down forcefully, to which Suban replied "No, I don't agree."
Masten was then asked if he bit Suban.
“Absolutely not … my mouth is wedged on his forearm. There was no intention to bite. I must have closed it by reaction," said Masten.
Earlier in the night, Fremantle defender Alex Silvagni was handed a four game ban for striking West Coast’s Jamie Cripps during the second quarter of the round 20 encounter.
