Nat Fyfe remains a chance to play in Sunday’s RAC Derby according to Executive General Manager of Football Peter Bell.

The midfielder turned forward was a late withdrawal from Fremantle’s team against North Melbourne with a foot injury.

Senior Coach Justin Longmuir said post-game Fyfe could miss up to two weeks, but he also remains a chance to play if he trains well during the week.

“Nat’s dealing with some plantar fascia issues in his foot and has been on and off for a while now,” Bell said.

“We’ve treated that in the latter stages of last week and we’ll see how he progresses through training this week as to his availability to play in the RAC Derby.”

Bell was pleased to see Michael Walters get through his limited minutes against North Melbourne after he came on as a substitute in the third term and kicked two goals.

“We loved his energy and the impact on the game that Sonny had,” Bell said.

“He’s pulled up really well so he’ll be looking for increased minutes this week.”

Young midfielder Conrad Williams is a test to return to playing from a quad issue, however Peel will not play a pre-season game this weekend ahead of their Good Friday round one clash against East Fremantle at Rushton Park.

“Conrad had a little bit of overuse through the quad, which I said last week is not uncommon for young players,” Bell said.

“He will be assessed to main train during the week.”

Travis Colyer has continued to progress from knee surgery, and is now four weeks away from a return.
