Fremantle forward Nat Fyfe will miss next Sunday’s RAC Derby with a foot injury that saw him withdrawn from Saturday’s clash with North Melbourne.

Senior Coach Justin Longmuir expects Fyfe to spend a fortnight on the sidelines, meaning Fyfe is set to miss both the RAC Derby and Fremantle’s round four clash with Adelaide.

Fremantle’s Gather Round clash with Gold Coast at Norwood Oval on Friday 14 April looms as his likely return date.

Fyfe was replaced by Jye Amiss an hour before bouncedown on Saturday in a clash Fremantle lost by a point.

“(Fyfe will miss) probably two weeks,” Longmuir said in Saturday’s post-game media conference.

“He’s been carrying the plantar fasciitis (in his foot) for a while now, and he just didn’t react well to last week’s game and pulled up really sore. To the point where he didn’t get up for the game.”

“He probably needs a bit of a rest, so medical staff have done some work behind the scenes and obviously he didn’t play today so he’ll be off his legs for a little bit.

“Trying to maximise a bit of rest, and he probably needs another week, just to calm it down.”

After playing just seven games in 2022, Longmuir remained confident Fyfe would bounce-back from the 'speed hump'.

"The rest of his body is feeling really good and he’s frustrated by this, but he sees it as a bit of a speed hump," Longmuir said.

"If he can get this right, he probably feels like the rest of his body is holding up really well and he can have a prolonged crack at it."
