Nat Fyfe is continuing to go from strength to strength as he develops his forward craft this pre-season, with the Freo star looking to test opposition defences in 2023.

Executive General Manager of Football Peter Bell says Fyfe’s impact won’t be measured in goals alone, with his presence set to create opportunities for his fellow forwards.

After kicking three goals in Friday’s Intraclub, Fyfe kicked another in a brief 18 on 18 drill at training on Tuesday as he further advanced his credentials as a forward.

“(Fyfe’s impact) won’t be measured in goals,” Bell told 7NEWS.

“The value of a player like Nat Fyfe…he’s going to attract a very good defender every week and he’s going to cause panic.

“He’s a great aerialist, he’s one of the toughest players I’ve ever seen play the game and so I think he can be a real headache for opposition defences.”

And the opposition backline won’t be the only group that will need to worry about the two-time Brownlow Medallist.

“We will also use him in the midfield at times for sure, we’d be crazy not to,” Bell added.

Another Freo star Luke Jackson could also be used in the midfield on occasion, but Bell reiterated the 199cm 21-year-old was brought in as a ruck/forward.

“(Jackson playing in the midfield) is definitely a possibility,” Bell said.

“The main roles that he will play will be ruck and forward but he’s got such great versatility to his game and attributes to his game where stints in the midfield may eventuate.

“We’ve certainly explored that over the pre-season and it’s looked pretty good but we want to make sure he can master those areas that he’ll probably play the majority of time in.

“We’re not putting a limit on what’s possible, he’s a very unique player.”
