Fremantle’s playing list participated in an 18 v 18 match simulation on Friday, their second for the week.

Similar teams to Monday’s match sim were on the park, with Sean Darcy leading a midfield group of Andy Brayshaw, Will Brodie and Matthew Johnson - while Luke Jackson had Caleb Serong, Jaeger O’Meara and Neil Erasmus at his feet.

The outing marked Nat Fyfe’s first major hitout of 2023, spending his time up forward sometimes one out with Luke Ryan.

Fyfe set up Tom Emmett for a goal 15 minutes in, drifting up the ground to take an uncontested mark in the middle before turning to hit up Emmett who streamed into goal.

Team Black had the upper hand early, working the ball into attack as Michael Frederick took a strong overhead grab to kick the first major of the day, on his way to two goals.

Josh Corbett presented to take some good overhead marks, and also laid some clean tackles.

Darcy and Brayshaw combined well alongside Johnson, helping drive Team Black out of the middle.

Travis Colyer got busy and found plenty of the football early, often creating some good ball movement for his side.

James Aish found himself on the end of a goal after a strong link-up play by O’Meara and Matt Taberner, creating a set shot for Aish on the 50m arc.

Hayden Young and Alex Pearce teamed up in defence for Team Black, rebounding the ball well.

The final moments grew in intensity with Team Yellow holding a small margin late in the game after a Sam Switkowski intercept and goal, as both sides wrestled to be in front by the final siren.

A late snap goal to Josh Treacy as well as individual efforts in the form of a Sam Sturt smother and an Ethan Hughes spoil helped secure a three-point victory to Team Black.
