Phil Walsh:

The AFL community is in shock after the death of Adelaide coach Phil Walsh.

It will be unfamiliar circumstances for players, staff and supporters across the competition come game day.

No doubt there will be a sombre mood across all games this weekend.

Form:

Freo has lost just one game this year while Brisbane has won just two but that means little once the ball is bounced on Sunday afternoon.

While Fremantle has not been at its best in recent weeks after losing to Richmond and close-fought wins over Gold Coast and Collingwood.

TABtouch 22: Three changes for Freo

Dayne Beams:

The talented midfielder is arguably the Lions’ best player this year.

He has been the top possession winner for the club in seven out of 12 games he has played this season.

While Freo have not favoured tagging opposition players this year, close tabs will need to be kept on Beams.

Tall timber:

Freo’s ruck combination is still a work in progress.

Aaron Sandilands is arguably in career best form but no one is yet to cement their spot as the side’s second ruckman.

While Jack Hannath has been omitted, Zac Clarke and Matt Taberner, who starred for Peel Thunder in the WAFL last weekend, are back in the squad.

Brisbane head west without key tall Stefan Martin after accepting a two-match ban for striking during the Lions loss to Adelaide.

Fremantle play Brisbane at Domain Stadium on Sunday 5 July. Bounce down is at 2.40pm.
